  • Gadjah Mada University (UGM) was founded on December 19, 1949. Considered one of the oldest universities in Indonesia, it is a pillar of the country's educational awakening and claims to be an advocate and propagator of Pancasila .

    The headquarters of UGM is located in Bulaksumur Campus, Yogyakarta. To date, UGM has 18 faculties, a vocational school and a graduate school offering more than 251 courses. UGM's mission is inspired by the spirit of Tri Dharma of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi), which includes teaching, research, and community service. More than 56,000 students, both domestic and international, are enrolled at UGM in a myriad of professional, undergraduate and graduate programs.

As a research university, UGM has paid great attention to research activities by motivating faculty members, as well as the publication of their research results. Furthermore, this effort is invigorated by the development of 25 study centers on various scientific fields.

    The commitment of citizenship is manifested in community services and community empowerment activities, one of which is to engage students to do their internship in rural areas in all parts of Indonesia.
