European Commission

The main function of the European Commission is to propose and implement Community policies. "Guardian of the Treaties", it oversees their application and enjoys a quasi-monopoly on the right of initiative in the area of the exclusive competences of the Union, such as the customs union, the preservation of the biological resources of the sea, the internal market, the single currency.
