Provincial Union of Agricultural Professionals of Houet (UPPA Houet)

The Provincial Union of Agricultural Professionals of Houet (UPPA Houet) was recognized under Law 014 in 1998 but had already existed since 1988 with non-specialized groups by product under Zatu 035. The process of compliance with Law 014 has led to the structuring around dry cereals (especially corn), fruits and vegetables. It constitutes a grouping at the provincial level of 13 departmental or communal unions comprising 484 groups, including 283 women's groups and 201 men's groups at the village level, making a total of 11,000 women and 9,500 men.
