Scale Out 4p1000

The “Action plan to scale out the 4 ‰ Initiative” (Scale Out 4 ‰) project, funded by the Climate KIC, aims to enable better dissemination and implementation of practices contributing to the objectives of the 4 ‰ Initiative: soils for food security and climate.

This project is based on two observations:

• the soil's potential for mitigating and adapting to climate change is still largely unknown;
• the large-scale development of practices allowing soil carbon sequestration remains hypothetical.

It is therefore necessary to mobilize the public and private sectors around the 4‰ Initiative, to identify the possible factors blocking actions targeting soil carbon and finally to develop strategies to disseminate innovations linked to the objectives of the Initiative.

To meet its ambition, the “Scale Out 4 ‰” project has 2 objectives:

• identify the constraints to the dissemination and adoption of innovations and to investment in connection with the objectives of the 4‰ Initiative;
• develop an action plan to remove these constraints.
